Sinulog Festival 2027

Where to eat during Sinulog 2027

📅 Opens 7 January 2027 · Grand Parade Sunday 17 January 2027

Sinulog is Cebu's festival for the Santo Niño, and its Grand Parade on Sunday 17 January 2027 is the busiest day of the city's year. What to eat, what to book, and how to work around the parade.

What to eat

Lechon is Cebu's signature dish, and festival week is when the city eats most of it. Add puso (hanging rice) from street grills, pork BBQ skewers along the route, dried mangoes for the walk, and a bulalo recovery bowl the morning after.

The plan (this is where people fail)

Roads around the parade route close on parade day; the official route and closures are announced by the city and the Sinulog Foundation closer to the date, so check them that week. Book anything sit-down for parade Sunday well ahead, or eat street-side and save the reservation for Monday. Hotels near the route fill early: book as soon as your dates are fixed.

When is Sinulog 2027?

Sinulog 2027 opens on 7 January, and the Grand Parade is on Sunday 17 January 2027, the feast of the Santo Niño, with the Cebu City Sports Center as the main venue (Sinulog Foundation, reported by the Manila Times, 23 Sep 2026).

Do restaurants stay open during the parade?

Many do, but roads around the parade route close and restaurants near it get busy. Book a sit-down meal for parade Sunday ahead, or eat street food along the route and keep your restaurant booking for the days after. Check each restaurant's live Google Maps listing on the day.

What should I eat at Sinulog?

Lechon first: Cebu seasons the pig from the inside, so the sauce is optional. Then street barbecue with puso, ngohiong rolls, and halo-halo between parade sections.
